VM-6 is used to measure the outdoor static pressure as a reference against an indoor local pressure.
When measuring differential pressure in larger premises such as shopping centers and industrial premises, it is often difficult to find a good reference pressure inside the building. It is then appropriate to use atmospheric pressure as a reference.
In order for the outdoor reference point to be stable, the measuring socket must be insensitive to wind and positioned so that the static pressure changes around the outer walls of the building do not affect the measurement.
The VM-6 is made of AISI 316 stainless steel, which is highly resistant to salt water and therefore also suitable for offshore applications.
